How effective is international support for data and statistical systems?

To what extent are development effectiveness principles guiding investments to meet national priorities and overcome capacity constraints? 

This paper analyses how the Busan Principles play out in international co-operation on data and statistics drawing on the latest research, evidence and insights on what works in practice and why? The paper identifies three strategic action areas and cross-cutting principles that merit collective investment and efforts for greater effectiveness (see image). They will inform multi-stakeholder consultations with a view to agreeing on good practice principles for more and better finance and co-operation for data and statistical ahead of the 3rd High-Level Meeting of the Global Partnership for Effective Development Co-operation (2022).
