This publication emerges as a corollary of a meticulous effort of documentation, systematization and analysis of the trajectory of the AMEXCID-UNDP Cooperation Program (PROCAP) from 2013 to 2019. Given that the general objective of PROCAP lies in the search for the institutional consolidation of the AMEXCID to strengthen South-South Cooperation (SSC) in Mexico, its history is closely linked to the process of establishing the Mexican System of International Cooperation for Development.

For this reason, the reconstruction of the PROCAP experience, in addition to identifying the main results and lessons learned about UNDP support for South-South Cooperation in Mexico, also makes it possible to account for the evolution of the institutional scaffolding of International Cooperation for Development. in Mexico.

Thus, the report "Lessons and perspectives of UNDP support for South-South Cooperation in Mexico: AMEXCID-UNDP Cooperation Program (2013 - 2019)", on the one hand, constitutes a key element in underpinning the Third Stage of the program (2019-2025); on the other, it contributes to the generation of knowledge in terms of strengthening SSC.
