1.1: Demonstrating the impact of effectiveness
Demonstrating the impact of effectiveness
To make a convincing case for implementing the effectiveness principles we need to demonstrate that effectiveness really delivers more and better development. We combine targeted research with real life effectiveness projects in partner countries.
Why is effectiveness important?
Effectiveness is about more and better development impact. How can we show that?
The Global Partnership’s work to strengthen effectiveness must be built on a convincing case that implementing the effectiveness principles leads to better and faster development for people and society. To do this, this action area will:
(1) support ‘Effectiveness to Impact’ initiatives in partner countries. These will be practical sector level projects to accelerate progress on specific SDGs, by implementing the effectiveness principles. They will be implemented by the sector ministry and the development partners and other actors engaged in the sector;
(2) undertake, promote and communicate research and analytical studies to collect existing evidence on effectiveness and develop methodologies to analyze impact-evaluation data. The work in these areas will generate evidence and good practices on ‘effectiveness to impact’ and establish the analytical-based connection between effective practices and accelerated development impact.
